Joint NorCal - SoCal ride???

I thought I would start this thread. I thought I would attempt to get NorCal and SoCal members together for a ride. A few of us in NorCal come and visit, and Cole and I thought it would be a great idea to have a ride that starts mid-way between NorCal and SoCal. I have some route slips from GW Bike Rally last year, so maybe we can come up with something there.

I already checked, and there is Amtrak service that goes to San Luis Obispo, but none coming from San Francisco or San Jose to San Luis Obispo ...

If there is interest, I'll investigate further.

What a nice idea Ron.

I think the midway point is Moorpark nestled in Ventura County. If y'all don't agree then San Luis Obispo seems reasonable. The Coast Starlight goes from San Luis Obispo to San Jose and Oakland.

I'd be interested in doing this type of ride for sure, just depending on when. Grand Tour is as the end of this month and then July is travel month for lots of folks. But I love that area. Great idea, Ron.

Great ... looks like we've got some takers for this "joint" ride ... we won't be rolling any, if any of you were wondering ...

Now, pinpointing the date. Blastradius, in NorCal, was thinking sometime between 7/30 and 8/12 ... but we may have some conflicts there ... we'll have to wait and see .... anyone else have any dates that would be attractive to you?

Good idea! Those dates are a bit tight for us as we leave on vacation on Aug 5th. We get back a week later and then Cool Breeze is on the calendar.

I don't really know what I am thinking. Each year I do a week long tour down the coast, camping and such along the way. I have not even thought when I might do it this year. I was just putting ideas out there. This would be an option to come donw the coast in 1/2 a week.

If a ride really develop out of this, I am quite sure all your expenses would be covered.

But this is a little different than what Ron was suggesting, so I don't want to trample too much in his thread.
