Is GMR open on July 4th?

I am thinking of riding GMR up to Mt Baldy on the 4th. Will it be open to
cars by that time or still only to cyclists? Thanks

I was riding there Monday evening and I talked to one of the firemen/park rangers. According to him its opening officially on the 8/9th of July so you should be fine (assuming nothing has changed in the last 4 days). He said it will be closed on the 4th to prevent accidents (beer, fireworks and loopy roads = problems for them). Have a nice ride if you make it out there!

Even in years when it's open to traffic, it's usually closed to cars on and around July 4th to prevent accidents and fires.
