Hey Ovoleg, I found you a riding partner
I just sold my Bianchi to a girl who is getting into triathlons. She's really excited about getting her first road bike (has been mountainbiking for years). She's 24, blonde, long legs, fit, friendly, and successful. If I wasn't married, I'd be all over it
Oh wait, that's right, you're not into slower rides. Ah well.

lol so if I hear from her again, I'll tell her I know a few guys who like it slow.
It was actually funny, she came up to my apartment so I could swap cassettes and add links to the chain for her, and I told her I had to peek in and make sure my wife was still fully dressed before she went in, and she was like "Oh, was a little somethin' goin' on just now?" lol

That may be, but she doesn't follow directions too well. What part of hug a bit less tight, stand a bit more to your left, and tilt your head just so does she need diagrammed?
Edited to add a note to Happytime: No, nothing's going on behind your back. I'm just explaining to M.E. how to reach her water bottle. Release the death grip from the handlebar, shift a bit to make room for the arm to reach the bottle, and tilt the head to be able to squeeze the bottle to get water in the mouth. Really.

Yeah, she sounds adventurous. I wouldn't try to swim, bike, and run in one day. And she was brave enough to let me hold her up on the bike to check the stem length and KOPS. Definitely smart with an English degree and a previous job with a major magazine, and thinking about going back to school for something else. My wife and her 3 degrees encouraged her to do it while she's still single and without children.
And I see ME wants her as well. Didn't know she went both ways. (I think that's hot, but so do most men... right?)

Nothing wrong with going back to school while married. Children may be a bit of an issue depending on one's studies, but having a supportive husband isn't going to hurt her studies any.

That's why you go for a PhD in the sciences. No tuition to pay, and you earn a stipend along the way.

Eh, we're artists. If anything, hers would be an MA in Architecture. My masters would be in orchestral conducting (it still gives me a higher teaching salary) and a DMA in the same, although that will never pay for itself if I continue to teach middle school. I don't even know what she'd get her doctorate in, but she likes the ring of it with her name

Organic synthesis is art, too. R. B. Woodward won the Nobel Prize for the art of organic synthesis.

Well, most places nominally charge a tuition (my institute doesn't), but in the basic sciences, most competitive PhD programs also give you a fellowship specifically to cover tuition. (You don't actually see the money. You just basically get a tuition waiver.) And then you get a separate teaching or research stipend to cover living expenses. About $20-30k depending on the institute and various factors such as whether you have outside funding, so you don't get rich in grad school, but you don't starve, either.

A nephew did that a few years ago, but in general, I don't think there were as many opportunities for post grad work 35 years ago as there are today. Good luck in your efforts Jason.
