Thanks for letting me join the ride 8/12/07

To those that did the group ride yesterday (8/12/07) that went from the La Jolla area down around to Coronado, I just wanted to say thanks for letting me join in. I am down in the area from Washington for another 3-4 weeks and looking to hook up with group rides in the evening during the week and during the day on the weekends. I don't have a car and only know the roads that I have ridden but can scope out directions to rides on google maps. If you know of any rides in the San Diego area that start within 10 miles of downtown, let me know.
-Jeff

+1 - and thanks for helping some of us navigate through Coronado.

I don't know about organized rides close in to downtown, but the San Diego Bicycle Club rides are a good option if you don't mind riding a bit more than 10 miles to the start.

https://www.sdbc.org/core/template.php?page=ride.satride

It starts at 8:30 and splits into different groups based on speed/skill level. In your case you could just pick the group with the most women

Good meeting you yesterday. Another option is the Tuesday and Thursday evening rides on Fiesta Island. Many local racers do the rides and they are pretty high paced. This is not exactly a group ride, more like a bunch of riders going round a loop at high speed - sort of like a training criterium. Not sure if this is your cup of tea...

Good riding with ya Jeff. There's a pretty good ride up to the Cabrillo National Monument. Not too long, and you get a good view of the bay.

This is it starting from Balboa Park.

good meeting you, jeff. hopefully we'll get something together down here again sometime soon.

oh yeah, and thanks again for leading tiffanie, dave, and me to the ferry! we probaably would have ended-up sleeping on the golf course.

Nice riding with you yesterday. Keep tuned to this subforum, and it's quite likely more group rides will pop up.
