How much do you climb last month?

I just recently got my road bike last month and I wanted to see how much I was climbing in a month... so broke out the calculator, excel and my GPS data. On my rides for last month, I commuted to work about 2-3 days a week and when I got lucky, I was able to get in a weekend ride once in awhile.

So my total for last month was 26,000 ft of climbing (according to my Garmin Edge 305) in 320 miles.

Who's going to quickly put my numbers to shame?

400 miles, 16,000 feet in exaggerated Garmin elevation, so it was probably closer to 12,000

I finished my last base training ride today. I learned a lot, improved my cardio conditioning and have no doubt I'll be incorporating long flat rides into my riding schedule moving forward.

However, I've got a date with Latigo Canyon. Let the climbing begin again.

For July, about 88k in 1876 miles. A lot of the miles are rolling, never flat, but not as much pure climbing as I would like. June was closer to 107k in 2071 miles.

I think one of the reasons why I got my numbers is because of my commute. This is my commute going to work:

Conversely, this is my commute going home:

After weeks and weeks of this, I've noticed that I'm getting stronger on the hills.

You also leave work at a higher elevation than you arrived at.
Do you end/start at the same location?

My house sits at 1930 ft in elevation. My office is at 770 ft. few rolling hills until I start the march up my hill. Thankfully, I have time to warm up my legs before attacking the hill. Now when I say attacking the hill, I throw it in the small gear in front and the biggest in the back and spin, spin and spin.
