I would but my Mom needs me to do some yardwork for her that weekend. And if she doesn't have any, I'll find some!

Dude, one weekend of your training is like 5 years of my accumulated climbing....ON a fixie even!

So you're doing the 508 solo? If you do it, I gotta shake your hand! I know riders that have done it on teams but solo, that's a RIDER! Good luck on the training!

I don't see the top of Baldy mentioned anywhere in the route description.

Thank you. I will gladly shake your hand. I did 508 solo last year. This year I want to do it fixed.

Oh I didn't know that! You owe me a handshake dude!

There is a gal from another forum that did it on a fixie last year. She's from another state so I've never met her. I thought all the good riders were from other states!

Hmmm, chick, fixie, 508? What's Brandy got on her ride schedule?

Are you talking about Emily? She regularly posts on Bicycling.com and just completed the PBP on a fixed gear.

I heard that over 1,800 riders abandoned the ride due to bad weather and headwinds, the worst in 100 years of PBP history.

Not 508...that's fo' sho'! Actually, I'll be there this year, just in the comfort of a slow moving vehicle instead of on a bike.

I'm thinking...just thinking about 508 for next year if I can really dedicate some time to training this next year. We'll see how it goes. It most certainly wouldn't be on a fixed gear though!
