I dunno Voltie. I don't even have a clue where Simi Valley is.

I just pass along the scraps of shiny things I find in the road...

Of course I've heard of it, Steve.

But if a name ends in "-Valley" (with the exception of the San Gabriel Valley, since I grew up in Pasadena) I am clueless as to where it is and have only the vaguest idea that it's a very hot place somewhere north of the 310 area code.

If I have to go there, I usually let someone else drive.

Sorry;

No grapes here, too hot.
Care for a peeled raisin?

I've heard a rumor that Cannondale is selling a bunch of System Sixs w/ Record and SRM SI Cranks for 5k. Has anyone seen this deal?

You may want to check with JPConrad. He seems to be a C'dale fan.

Just checked Google map. Simi Valley is Grand Tour far. That's really far.

I haven't heard any such thing, but if you happen across one in a 54 cm size, can you let me know?

I borrowed a system six for a couple long rides last week, and all I can say is that it was extremely smooth and felt very stiff. I was quite impressed. If it weren't for the shimano, the owner might not have ever seen his bike again.

That location is the west end of Simi Valley.
Depending how long they let you test ride, there is a 15%'er nearby so you can get a pretty good idea how a particular bike climbs. There is a (relatively easy) dirt trail to Thousand Oaks from that spot as well so a taste of off road riding is possible.

Don't forget my 52cm C'dale has the same dimensions as your 54. So please watch out for 52 & 54 for Jason.

I currently own a System Six. I love it and it is the best bike I have ever owned. I was fortunate enough to borrow a SuperSix from the cannondale rep last month and I will definitely be racing one of those next year with the SC Velo team paint (which means I will have a one year old SystemSix for sale). The SystemSix rides great and is very light, stiff and responsive (which I love). To me the SuperSix felt even better and did not have the dead feel that I felt when I rode full carbon Treks in the 90s and one of the early Time carbon bikes in 2005.
