I need 950 More Miles to Meet My Goal!
I set my bikejournal mileage goal at 5,000 this year. I felt that was good, enough but not too much. Last year I did about 4200. So I'm happy that I'll easily top last year's. But only 950 more in 2 months should be more than doable.
Gina's got about 640 more to match her last year's number of 3,000. I think she can do it!
How you guys doin'? Meeting your goals?

hello
Sorry Fred, I completely lost track of where I'm at. That's what happens when you're not a computer user. But good luck to both you and Gina. You'll both make it, I'm sure...

I'll be happy if I get 2000 miles for the year, I just past 1300 on Saturday so I have a ways to go, but MIGHT be able to get there. I plan to have a strong winter training program so i can be semi race ready by march. So I'm not too worried about the milage but want to get faster/stronger and loss about
10-15lbs by March if possible.

Fred, I started the year with a goal of 5,000 for the year then upped it to 7,000 in March. I was over zealous and learned that with my life, 5,000 miles worth of miles is enough. So, I've backed it back down to my original goal and I've met and surpassed it this year. Now, I'm riding more for fun and to finish CAM. That I do hope to complete, but I'm not riding for miles anymore than that. With that said, I am still adding my miles to Bike Journal for sure, but I'm not looking at the total anymore, stressing about finding time to ride.
I echo George's sentiments. You'll make your goal! But beyond that, you and Gina should just enjoy the riding.

I had debilitating shoulder problems that stopped me from cycling back in April, so this year I did 3000 miles or so out of planned 10,000, three centuries out of planned 10-11 and no doubles even though I wanted to do at least one. I had surgery about a month ago, recovery is going well, so hopefully I will be able to get on a bike again in a few weeks.

I'm about 380 more from 3K, but that isn't really my goal. My goal is being able to keep up with the BF group but I'm not at that level yet.

Of course Lee rides. He says so himself, according to a post he made on RBR to a newcomer:
"...lets us know when you get settled out here and we'll hook you with the rides we go on and our friends organize. check in over here, too. bikeforums.net so cal forum..."

If a cyclist rides a bike, and it isn't logged by a computer, did the ride really happen?

Honestly Fred,
I stopped trying to keep track about March! I know that I rode a lot of miles, and I finished 5 doubles, so that's enough for me.
For 2006 I kept a detailed excel spreadsheet of every mile and came up just a few over 6,000. Probably about the same for 2007!

I have 495 miles to go to hit 7,000 this year. Not too bad since I was off the bike from June 29th - August 24th this year.
I am aiming for 8000 miles by Dec 31st...
