Just a thought, but if there are a few people who would like to be a part of this, but not ride the entire time, they could alternate SAG and riding.

VMC and I may do this as well... really depends on the date etc.; we can either ride a day together and backtrack the next day (we can only do the first two days assuming they are on a weekend) or one of us will drive and one will ride, then switch off....

I honestly think SAG would make the whole thing more complicated.

Let's make it a 2 day ride! That way we only need a hotel one night, maybe 2 the night before the ride.

I was thinking this would be a fun, unsupported juant down the coast. No need for SAG and people should be self supportive. I figure that if someone has an issue, they can jump on Amtrak (or, at least, that would be what I would do). This may end up being a couple of trips of different groups (nothing wrong with that). But that may be the only way all ideas of what kind of ride this should be can be realized.

How many days were you thinking this would take and what were you planning to do for clothes?

Well, officer, , I was thinking at a minimum five days and I would borrow bags from one of the sweet guys who offered (Roadfix, Thomson, Scootcore) and as for clothes, a change of cycling clothes, t-shirt (long sleeved), shorts/capris, tank (to sleep in), 2 pairs of panties and a bra. Obviously, some washing of clothing would be necessary along the way!

I don't know that I could ride 100 miles/day. And if you are thinking 2 days ...well, good luck.

Heavily loaded bikes would make over 100 miles a day impractical. I figure you'd need a really large bag or 2 saddle bags. And cycling clothing that can be dried, so no Assos.

Ya know, all you need is one cycling outfit, just wear a bedsheet while you're cleaning it!

(toga! toga!)

Okay, folks, let's get this straight. This trip is not a hot-tub, nude, toga party. Got that!? If we want to do that, might I suggest we plan to ride to Palm Springs.
