Rode into work today... and I feel like CR@P!
So, after being off the bike for nine days, I finally get a chance to ride into the office today. The temps were perfect and as I checked the air quality, it didn't seem to bad. On my way into work, I didn't work up a sweat, but I was TIRED! and HUNGRY! I'm not sure if it's due to not riding for nine days or if it's the air quality.
On my ride back, I decided to take it easy... instead of getting home in 1:07, I took my time and made it home in 1:15. I could barely stand up and take a shower... even now, as I type this, my body feels very tired... maybe I should wait until the air clears up... or is it because I just didn't get enough exercise? On a side note, my friend let me borrow his Niterider Minewt Dual X2 for the ride home and they are very nice. Bright lights enough to see, not to be seen. |

Not sure where you're checking the air quality....

Yeah, I meant that most of the sources that give air quality reports said the air was unhealthy -- particulate matter from the fires.

I know I come across as Ms. Hysterical all the time, but Clan, why would you ride in the crap air here? I work in Glendale and just walking outside to meet Herb for lunch at Carousel, I could feel it, see it, and even slightly smell it. You'll just do your lungs a disservice and, IMHO, it isn't worth it. Sorry you feel bad. :(

I REALLY want to ride on Sunday, but I'm gonna err on the side of safety (unless official air quality reports improve).

The good news is that my lungs don't bother me... the bad news is that I think it was the stomach flu. My son had it last week and he was fine after a day... well, last night, my daughter was up all night throwing up... my sister who watched the kids while I was sick has the same symptoms.
First I thought it was the bad air quality, then I thought it was the flu shot, or it could have been from donating blood... I even thought I had mild food poisoning... Thanks to someone else getting sick, at least I know that it was the stomach flu! :D |
