hmm - riding through Inglewood at 2 AM? That's nothing compared to that area east of downtown - you will get a good view of the crack dealers on 5th street.

I was in my car at a light on 4th and Alameda one day when a guy comes out of nowhere screaming and tries to get into my car then gets in front of it before collapsing onto the ground while holding onto my front bumper. All the time he is screaming at me and hitting my car so hard that his hand is bleeding. I can't drive without running the guy over. I stay in the car and 911 it and as I am waiting someone comes over and picks the guy clean. I saw them take a crack pipe and a few bags out of his pockets. They guy was so strung out that it took 5 cops to get him off my car. The best part was when LAPD Metro just looked at me and seriously asked why I didn't just run the guy over.

Oh, don't be so negative. You could just as easily bonk in Beverly Hills and be rescued by a nice heiress/heir...

Sound like lots of fun. I am considering but don't think I can skip my work load on Tuesday.
BTW, is this (mandatory) no-helmet, no jersy style century?

not necessarily. if you feel comfortable that way then that's what you should wear. but it will be mostly dudes in cut off jeans with fixed gears and ironic mustaches.

coles mustache is not ironic.
its an unsupported ride, so you have to bring everything you think youll need with you. tony z and his crew show up in full kits with helmets all the time. are you afraid of being made fun of my some silverlake hipster in girl pants?

I live in fear of exactly that. Waking nightmares. When will it STOP!?

Cole's mustache is part of the reason why he's a strong cyclist.

Cole = the guy who drank two Newcastles at Baldy Village after descending back down from the ski lifts, halfway through an 80 mile ride on one of the hottest days of the summer (close to 110 outside)

That is a true man. All of us were pounding ice water, and we hear cole say "I'll take a Newcastle."

+10 man points.
