La area riding

I'll be in the Los Angeles area during thanksgiving, Id like to ride up the coast. Perhaps from Long Beach up to Santa Monica or Malibu. Does anyone know of a good route where there are bike paths? I am not very familiar with the geography so I am trying to do my research and map it out before I leave. Looks like it gets a little hairy from Long Beach into Torrance. Also, if there is an online map of such paths in that area, could someone please send me the link.

Thanks,

Matt

there is a bike path in long beach and one from torrance beach all the way to above santa monica.

however, the lb and the torrance paths are not connected. you will have to ride on the streets around the lb harbor, through wilmington, harbor city, lomita and redondo beach from lb to get to the beach bike path at torrance beach.

just drive to redondo beach pier, park there and jump on the bike path to malibu.

Why not ride down the coast? Long Beach to San Clemente.

There's been a thread in the past month or so with detailed directions from Long Beach to Torrance and up the coast that you can do a search on. Definitely complex and kind of hairy in a few spots, and I'm a local. OTOH, it's really easy to go south from the LBC to Huntington, or to go north from Torrance through to Santa Monica via MUP, though it's actually a little more fun to cut just off the coast short of the Santa Monica pier and ride up to San Vicente and then around the golf course, unless you're going to take PCH all the way north to Malibu.
