Recommend fitter at south bay
I know this topic might have been discussed before but I can't seem to find the thread. Also I think the search engine on BF is doing funny stuff.
Just wondering if anyone have a recommendation for gett'n prof fitter?
I have this knee ache everytime after the ride and I wanted to take care of it before it gets worst.
much appreciate

+1 on Ted Ernst. Old school type and nice man, too.
Dan (who was on the South Bay Fun Ride) is also a certified fitter, as well as a Sports PT/DC. He does a lot of work with cyclists and triathletes. His office is in Torrance.

Hi Jim,
THanks for asking.
It is on my left knee. Actuall it's right at my knee cap on the outter side.
I'm not sure if it is tendons/legament but I try to change my seat, the seat post height, the cleat free- rotation dial, etc. Nothing seems to work. {I had been fitted by LBS where I purchased the bike but not done by any profession fitter..sort of speak}
I figure I might want to have someone to take a look. Basically I dont want to turn this problem into something serious.
Go-Fast:
Did you have your bike fitted by Ted? What is your opinion of him? I also heard there is a guy from SouthBay Wheelmen - Jim corb??
Many thanks.

Gary, I am not suggesting that you don't get fitted but have you tried rotating your left cleat so the front of your foot is a little left of where it is now? (toe out)

Yes, I've been through a two hour fit session with Ted on my first bike and am going back for another with both of my bikes. He'll spend 2 hours with you, too, to get everything correct, take notes and create a file so that when you change something on your bike and you come back for a follow-up fit, he will know where you and he started during the first fitting.
He founded the South Bay Wheelmen in 1960 and has raced in Europe and the USA. He also started the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix. He is about 70 years old but don't let that fool you, he knows his stuff.
I'd be hard pressed to be fit by anyone else.

Not exactly the South Bay, but Nate Loyal does fitting out of Helen's Cycles in Santa Monica. I highly recommend him. Look him up online at www.athleticamps.com

+1 for just the knowledge available at TEDs....
its kind of a pain to drive there from my house with a few closer LBS stores on the way... i always end up there in the end having them correct any problems on my bike from other LBS stores... with them always saying to me.. " YOU SHOULD OF CAME HERE FIRST" hahaha i always agree with them...
