Sand Canyon (Irvine) Group Ride & Rain

Usually when I'm riding to work, about 6:45 AM or so I see a group of about 50 or so headed inland on Sand Canyon in Irvine. Anyone know who they are?

This morning I rode to work in the rain showers (with my schedule, if I don't ride in the rain, I don't get to ride at all). I didn't expect to see any other cyclists - much to my surprise, there was a group of about 3 headed inland on Sand Canyon. I figure those must have been the only ones to show up for the group ride.

What kind of bottoms do you wear?

I own knickers and full tights but feel uncomfortable arriving to the office like that and it's too cold in the morning for shorts, hence my question.

I feel kind of bad because I live near the start, but 6:15 is just way too early.

For a family dude, it's the only way to get weekday rides in

I'm in the same boat with family and all ... but since I see this group around 6:30 or 6:45 when I'm riding to work, even 6:15 is too late for me to get a group ride in!

I have full tights for when its dry, rain pants when its wet. I work in a technical field, so in my office no one gives a darn whether you arrive in tights, a rusted '73 Gremlin, the bus, or whatever. We have a gym with showers to clean up. It does help that my immediate supervisor, my project manager, and one of the guys who works for me all ride to work.

Sounds like a good work place. Which company do you work for?

You know I can't answer that when I've posted during working hours! Actually, I took a sick day today, but felt well enough to check BF for a couple of minutes. Besides, I've worked enough OT this week, that I'll still have 40 hours covered by the end of this week.
