El Dorado Park starts tomorrow (Tuesday), March 4th

Hi All,

Just got this email from Chris:
Good evening to all!

I rec'd confirmation today that EL DORADO is going to happen tomorrow at 5pm! We will be there at 3:30pm for registration. After the time change, Eldo will start at 6pm. There's a reason why we have not listed this on active.com; we don't know what they will charge us. There has not been a price increase in ten years, and I think this year is the year we'll be hit with an increase.

I was assured yesterday that we'll run it and sort out the details later. So, that being said, the price is $7 for CBR members and $10 for non members. Series 1 will be $56, and the annual is $140. Lock in this price NOW before the city communicates the price increase. Once we get the bump, we'll do the math and make every attempt to make the absorption on both sides.

Results from Baker to Death Valley will be posted soon. Results from Dash 4 Cash will be posted soon, along with an excellent blog entry titled, "When Little League Parents Attack," because of a problem with a Cat. 4 junior female's father and her CORRECT 7th place finish! Nice-huh, and people wonder why I won't do junior's racing...it's not the kids that make it suck, it's the annoying parent. A special thanks to Ricky Shorts of Velo Allegro in showing others how loyalty is defined. For his loyalty, he has a free ride to El Dorado for Series 1! Loyalty is rewarded and disloyalty is punished.

The waivers for El Dorado will be posted on our website, please download, print, & sign in the morning...bring them in the afternoon!

I think we have about 750 CBR annual licenses. We need about 250 more by May 1st; I hope we can do it. Thanks for reading this far down; things are very busy, which is why I can't keep up with stuff right now, but I'm trying to get the word out about El Dorado. You could do me a solid favor by passing this email around so that your friends and teammates know that El Dorado is a GO! for tomorrow. Thanks for your support

Yeah, if they have the start time listed wrong for next week. Currently, the flyer says 4:45 for tomorrow and next Tuesday.

Cleave...do you park outside of the park and ride in, or pay for parking each time?

Still on the lookout for a sitter! If anyone has a teenager that tags along who wants to make a few bucks every Tuesday, let me know.

but where do i go after the race? the lights go out and i'm stuck in long beach. in the dark. alone. with no lights.
and say i did have lights. i'd still have to ride on the 5 going south through base. that would be terrible.
i mean..what am i? a RAAM rider? no. just a lowly cat4 racer. riding home from long beach after a one hour crit.

I have a teenager, I don't know if he'd be interested, but it's not like he's busy.

I've parked near the Walmart and also at the park and prefer the park, especially when I double flatted.

Hi,

If I'm running late (usual), I park on the north-south street just west of the park off of Wardlow (north side). A number of folks park there regularly. If I'm on time (sometimes), I park at the library on Studebaker just south of Spring. If I'm early (rarely) I ride from home and bring lights for the ride home.

I almost never (never say never) park in El Dorado. The dollars you save can go towards the sitter.

Brandy, I see a lot of riders parking in the Walmart parking lot by the gas station that is just North of the park. If you park here you won't have to get on any surface streets in the dark, it's all bike trail to and from.
