Tragic accident in Palos Verdes

Longtime SBW member Steve Hartt was in a very bad collision on Monday with a truck not far from his home in PV. He is currently in Intensive Care at Harbor-UCLA Hospital.

That is so sad ... I'm so sorry to hear about this. We've had our share of bike accidents already this year.

I have to inform you that Steve Hartt, longtime SBW member and friend to many of us, has passed away on Tuesday.

I do not have any information yet on a memorial service or ride for Steve. As soon as I get something I will pass it on.

Very sad to hear Steve didn't make it. Ya'll stay safe as you can out there on the west coast. We've had a couple car - bike accidents around here lately too even.

Isn't this the second SBW member to succumb to car vs. bike accidents this year?

In general, streets are safer than bike paths.
