Marine who lost legs to land mine becomes Ironman

With a handcycle, this U.S. Marine is recovering and growing into an Ironman after losing his legs and an eye because of a land mine in Iraq. He is an amazing guy and part of the Challenged Athletes Foundation's Operation Rebound. His story is below.

Thank you for sharing David. This is one reason I support the Planet Ultra Cycling Events They opened my eyes to the Challenged Athletes Foundation and I applaud them for posting there donations for everyone to see.

I saw your bit on the Real Orange rebroadcast this morning, David. The man is truly inspiring, as is anyone who gets put down and refuses to stay down.

Evan lives in Bakersfield, where I live. It’s been very interesting following his story. He has a great attitude. Life has dealt him a bum hand but he has made the best of it. It’s been a great story to follow.
