...when "serious" roadies are so uptight, you couldn't drive a pin up their backside with a jackhammer.

...when wannabe weekend warriors get winded at 17mph, yet still backslap heavily all over the internet after their rides.

When you drop a bunch of overweight 40 year olds on 10k bikes and they still act hard as hell and give you attitude.

you know you're in so cal when ...

You go into a Starbucks and the anorexic 13 year old in line ahead of you orders a caffeine-free non-fat latte with sugar-free caramel. You know, because she's watching her figure.

It has nothing to do with anything political......

For one I think it's idiotic for ANYONE to drive a huge jacked up truck with "Dub-Dubs" that couldn't possibly tow anything because it's too high. It's totally unnessesary and is a complete waste! NOW, for a cyclist to drive this montrosity is 100x worse as we should have a clue. This had nothing to do with the government or the current administration...it may have something to do with the environment as that's seperate from "political" and something we all should be concerned with.

I wasn't going to go this deep into it, but since you brought it up.......

Wow, I figured this would be over in the "elitest" thread in the road forum!

Politics doesn't simply refer to government and administration, it also applies to social concerns...that is a politically lined statement. I now refer to argument F "big truck small penis" GAME ON.

Sorry, but you're wrong, environmentalism is all politics and nothing else...go into as deep as you want, you had to bring it here not me. When you make buying decisions for other people, that's political.

...when you're in line at the 99 Cents Only store, and a Lionel Ritchie song comes on over the speakers, and the guy in front of you starts shaking his hips, and you ask him who did that song, anyway, and after some Lionel Ritchie banter, you discuss each other's purchases, and it turns out he is buying products to clean the rainy-season rust off his bike, which he bought instead of a car, and then you reconvene outside, and he realizes he hadn't properly locked his bike, yet still it is there, and a mutual sigh of relief is shared, and then you admire his bike, and look at the rust spots, and shake hands and grin, and off he rides...

You haters need to get out more. LA + bikes = rule!

Sorry I brought the big red truck up all....I will only respond on-topic from now on.

You know you're in SoCal when people can actually talk about a "rain" bike and rust and not laugh!

This is BF SoCal. Threads go off-topic quite frequently. As long as everyone keeps their cool, all is fine.
