About the 2008 Jersey and a Note to Caligurl
Hey guys,
After considerable thinking, I’ve decided to permanently end posting in the So Cal Region. I’m someone who has consistently received both positive and negative attention on a regular basis, and due to the disruption from the negative attention, my presence not being felt on here is the only solution that brings me peace of mind. I’ll be logging onto Bikeforums.net to read the wonderful information that can be found on this website. There are many intelligent, nice members who provide a myriad of insightful knowledge, advice and humor from all over the world who log on here regularly. I will continue to read (but not post in) the many forums on Bikeforums.net. I will also still be checking PMs and if anyone wishes to contact me, I’ll respond via PM only. This will be my last post on this website. To all the riders and friends I’ve met in the past two years, you know where to find me, and I look forward to future rides and experiences with each and every one of you. To all the new riders who may read this, good luck and maybe we'll meet on a ride someday.
About the 2008 So Cal Jersey - I’m no longer going to take the reins on ordering this jersey. Sorry, but my heart is not in it anymore. I’ve PMd the designers so that they are aware. If anyone on here wishes to go forward with handling the ordering of a 2008 jersey, please post something in this forum so that the designers may contact you. But at this time, the design contest is over and no winner was chosen.
And now – a note to Caligurl:
Cali,
I hope you are lurking, as I wanted to send you a heart felt public message. Because of you and your efforts (going to Joe and Shadiyah) in championing for regional forums, all of us met and many wonderful experiences and memories have been had. I'll never forget Joshua Tree! There are many friendships made because of what you did. I don’t think you realize the impact you've had, but trust me, sweetie, I respect and greatly appreciate how you helped create a way for many local riders to make lasting contacts. So many folks from all over Southern and Northern CAL, as well as those from other states, have met and ridden with each other and become friends. I'll speak for myself in saying that you brought me a wonderful, eclectic group of folks in my area whom I might not have met otherwise. Thank you.
I hope our paths cross again in the future. You and SirLance are the nicest couple.
Cheers,
Mary
To everyone else who may read this, safe riding and happy trails!

I'm sure there is a huge backstory here of which I know nothing about. But I'll miss your posts. You were always a great read.

Less than 1,000 posts from being #1. This is indeed a dark day.

I can empathize with merider.
A few years back I shared a frustrating experience with a piece of equipment and the horrible customer service I received from the manufacturer after the item failed.
As a consequence, I was overwhelmingly flamed not because I had a bad experience but rather because I shed some negative light on a well-known manufacturer.
The experience was surprising and disappointing and I ended up leaving Bikeforums for several months. There are good cycling related communities at other forums and I invested my time there ever since.
It was by chance I encountered a BF organized ride a few weeks back and met some of the riders like MERIDER who post often in this community. It was the friendly attitude and hospitality that was given me on this ride that drew me back into this forum.
It is too bad that this occurred. The online BF SoCal cycling community is the real loser in this situation.
Best wishes to merider.

Why let the negative people on here get you down? I've only met you a couple times and you seemed like a nice enough person. I don't get it. Take care and hope to see ya out on the road.

Sometimes I get a little bored with the posts here also, and don't visit as often, but eventually I get really bored or a ride will come up that interests me and I'll come back. But I can't imagine someone stalking me to the point I would go away.
Hopefully I'll see you on a ride ME.
