I've posted it before in this thread, but here it is again. I'll have to take some more current pictures, a few minor things have changed.

LOL, actually I figured out how much I'd save if I cut it down. 3 spacers and about 1.5" of the steerer tube was about 47-49 grams. I may cut it down after I'm 100% sure I'm going to keep the frame.

They are a slightly cheaper version than the 46s i think. The are a step above the Assaults as they come with DT swiss hubs and a 3k weave for the wheel. They just put them on the website the other day, apparently Reynolds doesn't even sell an aluminum wheel anymore.

So I was just browsing the site and it looks like they replaced the DV46... there used to be a DV46 and a DV46 UL, and now instead there is a DV46 UL and a DV3K. It looks like the "solitude" and "canyon" wheels are aluminum.

This should be good for a laugh!

This is “Old Faithful,” my Centurion Super Lemans. As near as I can remember, I bought this bike in early 1982. It was my first good bike, and is still my favorite. The old Huret odometer reads 7,000 miles, but I estimate that it has about twice that because I used more than one set of wheels on this bike, and this is the only set that has an odometer. I had an old bike computer at one time that also had several thousand miles on it. I used to do a lot of touring and commuting on this bike, as well as my first century.

Don’t anyone flame me because it’s so dirty. At least you know it’s being used. I rode 30 miles on it today.

The triple crank was added in 1984. The smallest chain ring this crank takes is a 34, which means that I use a 34 tooth freewheel to get a 27 inch first gear. I don’t think you can tell by the picture, but the handlebars have a “randonneur” bend to them, which is ideal for touring.

I guess I need to replace my old Avocet touring saddle.

Don’t see too many of these old Huret odometers anymore. Note the brackets for the low riders. These were for folks who didn’t have braze-ons on their front forks.

Don’t see too many Mirrycles either.

How about a flickstand? I saw a thread about these just a few days ago.

An old Suntour VX wide range derailleur….extremely solid and very inexpensive.

Like I said, not many braze-ons when I got this bike. I used hose clamps because I hated the water bottle clamps that were available in those days.

The bar-cons. I still see some of these around.

They put real medallions on them in those days. I think this was the last year for these.

It may not be pretty, but I still love this bike. It's made the trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles twice, as well as a lot of shorter tours. It also did a fair amount of commuting duties back in the eighties. One of these days I’ll strip it, replace the bottom bracket and wheels, add some braze-ons and paint it. Until then, I’ll just keep riding it.

Thanks for indulging me.

Nice Centurion. I never thought, in my lifetime, I'll ever see a Huret Cyclometer ever again. I've always wondered if anyone has one of those still running.
Looks a lot like a rig I had when I was a bike tour guide for AYH. They actually GAVE me a bike to use. Of course, I gave it back but similar to yours. Huret/flickstand/ and those really nice Cannondale Panniers. I think those were some of the best during that time.

Thanks! I'm amazed that the odometer is still going. You would think that the rubber ring would have dried out years ago, but it feels like it's brand new.

I have a complete set of Cannondale Panniers. The rear panniers and handlebar bag also look brand new. The smaller front panniers are quite a bit more worn because I used them a lot more.
