Yep. Silverlake was rocking... but thankfully, the house is still standing.

USGS reports it as a 5.8 in Chino Hills.

I felt it. My bike was swaying pretty nicely on its hook and my desk creaked.

5.8 in Chino Hills w/3 3.8 aftershocks, btw.

Quite strong here in Topanga Canyon. It started with that sharp crack, almost like someone slammed a door shut. Then... wait... wait... and roller coaster time. I could hear it coming was the wierd part. They are waves rolling through the ground, traveling slower than the speed of sound, which would make sense that I'd hear it first.

I wonder what that would have felt like on a bike. Anyone?

That's weird, because I barely felt it and only 1 aftershock in pasadena. Definitely didn't seem like a 5.8.

Pretty good ride in Irvine. Fletch didn't like it at all...he's still hiding under my desk.

Was listening to Jim Rome at the time. He was interviewing someone and cut in with, "I'm sorry to interrupt you, but we're in the middle of an earthquake here in LA." He's on the 16th floor of a building (Burbank, I think) and said he felt sea sick afterwards.

Long gentle shake here in Valley Glen. My son was in the bathroom--I congratulated him on an impressive BM.

At 46 floors above downtown L.A., it was pretty hard to miss. A lot of sway in the building.

On YouTube there's a video clip of that major EQ that flattened a large swath of land in China - while it's happening. The clip begins as the camera operator exited his building, and all around him were buildings crumbling, trees shaking, large plumes of dust, people ambling about looking frightened, hugging each other, sounds of panic, other voices telling people not to panic (some in English). Then he continued shooting while riding his motorbike through the debris littered streets. That, would suck.

We were rollin' out here in Chatsworth. Had an initial shock and then it rolled for a good while. Needless to say in earthquake country, we run for the door. Everyone in the business complex I'm in were outside.
