Is there anyone doing a century ride from OC?
Im looking for a century group ride before I turn 28 at Sept 10. Is there a moderate to fast pace ride (6 hours) going on? I would like to join.
Ive been commuting to work for almost two years now with my Tarmac down here at Irvine. Lately since May-June Ive been doing 100 miles per week either using the NOrth Irvine routes or NPC to 133 routes..
HOwever my group ride experience is minimal and hopefully I learn more from this.
Thanks!

Did we meet on the San Diego Creek trail on Saturday? I was on a black Cervelo tri bike and spoke to a guy on a red Tarmac for a few minutes.
I think most of our group century rides have been closer to seven hours of saddle time. I don't think there's anything currently planed before 9/10 though.

You just missed the CoolBreeze century in Ventura over the weekend (although it was sold out I hear). Here's a website with listings on several century rides in Cal, Nev, Or, Utah.

The Amtrak Century in Irvine seems to fit your timeline and location. If you still want to ride, the October Spooktacular in Bakersfield looks like fun. The Lighthouse Century in San Luis Obispo and the Solvang Prelude Ride & Autumn Century look like fun too.

What kind of speed are you looking at? I have never done a century but need to train for that 150 mile ride in october. I did 60 in about 4 but we stopped a good amount of time in the middle. We also had a pretty easy 14 miles in the middle when we did the San Louis Rey track in Oceanside. I just really need someone to ride with regularly because I don't have enough motivation to do more than 2 hours by myself really. I get prety lonely and go home to my wife.
oh, and my wife can only do about 20 miles before she gives up. But I am working on that. I am trying to talk her into doing the rosarito to ensenada ride with me.

I just wrote like a ****ing paragraph and the slow bike forum server ate it. I will go to the trouble of paraphrasing what I wrote.
EDIT: it spit it back out.

at the flats, around 20-22mph, so far my solo route would be the route from Irvine to Oceanside and back.
