Cars, toughest 100-mile ride in U.S. can't kill 77-year-old cyclist

Tougher than Lance? Maybe. Six epic crashes, rides one of the hardest centuries in the U.S., two artificial hips. Oh yeah. He's pushing 80 years old. An inspiration! Wanted to share....

I liked this line from the story: >But Tomaino was back on a new bike in two months. The doctor credited Tomaino's speedy recovery to cycling.<

Yes, cycling helped with his recovery. But the doctor could just as easily have credited Tomaino's bike riding for CAUSING his accident. It's like the kid who murdered his parents throwing himself on the mercy of the court because he's now an orphan. ;-)

True, plus The Bear is far from the toughest 100 mile ride in the U.S. Still, excellent performance at his age, plus with his accident history.
