great ride at the Rose Bowl today
i thought I would post a nothing thread
I finally got myself into shape, getting close to when I raced. Finally feel good, got my spin back and in the groove. I finally feel good in the drops and rock solid. Got the position dialed and fitness is almost there. You know how you can hammer all day and not get tired? I was so bummed when I started back riding because I was so tired over the same routes that I never got tired on--- but now, back to it! It also feels great to have that fitness, being in tune with your body again. I missed that!
I jump in the Bowl ride with my friend every once in awhile and last go round was easy. Pace was slow but big fitness jump for me to feel smooth and easy. I'm not doing intervals yet so no top end but hammer-time, it's a-ok. I can push a decent gear and maintain my spin.
Anyway, noticed they put up giant flashing signs that say "COUNTER CLOCKWISE, WALKERS JOGGERS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY". In addition to the ground stickers, yet people just ignore them... it's like a cop has to go up to each one and turn them around! "See you go THIS way.." haha, anyway the things you think about doing laps..
There was a Lexus test drive event going on in Lot K which was nice that there were no cars darting out of that lot.
Anyway, a nice afternoon ride! It feels so great to get that feeling of being in THE ZONE again. I'm looking forward to the Simi ride and maybe do some early season road races.
