I'll be with kuf, so I think we won't be going very fast. There is a strict no-drop-or-I-sleep-on-the-couch policy

We are driving up in the morning so I suspect we won't be starting very early...

Let me know when your contract comes up for review I need to help you renegotiate your contract.

Contract is eternal, and I have A metal band on my finger to remind me of that fact

But it's a small price to pay for her support for all my riding, especially stuff like sag at ec...

I guess I presented the no-drop clause very early in the negotiations.

Seriously though the way we work it, and it's agreed upon on a case by case (event by event) basis is:

1. I launch her out early (if the ride/race has staggered starts but also in training) and then chase her down.

2. I ride fixed while she rides multi-speed

3. I start with her and finish (event/climb) at my pace and then come back for her and ride at her pace.

4. Combination of all of the above

5. And then sometimes I just hang with her...

Since I push pretty hard solo and with my riding buddies, whenever I pedal with my wife or son I also have the no drop policy. Sometimes with my wife, I feel like I'm going so slow I could tip over.

I Was really joking more than anything. Usually I'll ride ahead and then cme back. Today I did the climb and then came back and did it again. She turned around at the lunch stop and I continued to the end while she ate. She sagged a little while after the stop and I was riding back to finish it...

Unfortunately due to a momentary lapse of concentration I hit a lip on the shoulder and went down, landing on my shoulder. I'm pretty sure that I broke my collar bone.

Heading to a hospital now

It's confirmed. A broken collarbone and he'll need surgery later this week. X-ray to follow when we get back home.

That sucks! Surgery for a collarbone seems unusual. Maybe get a second opinion?

Not unsual. For big breaks for active people they will put a metal plate in to hold it together. There is so much separation and overlap (4cm), there is no way it would heal properly on its own.

Steve! Dude!

Just happened to logon to BF while watchin the Tour of M... after almost a year off BF, and what do I see. another busted shoulder!
SO Sorry to see the results of your mishap! ouch!
There's prolly some news on the echelon list, but since I don;t get it, this is news!
Of the echeloners at the East Beach 'Worlds', no one spoke about this either, so I guess this is still new news in SB/Goleta.
Here's hopin the surgury goes well and healin happens quickly.
If I can help you 2 with anything, don't hesitate to ping me!

Yeah I saw you heading the other way too. I am from the NorCal group, and was on the tandem with my fiancee.

Sorry to hear about your injury... I broke mine during my commute (hit by car). Sucks bad.

Keep loose after it heals, my surrounding shoulder/back muscles are still tight from the injury (last year).
