A Little Online Bikepart Help Maybe?
Alright my story. I have never ordered anything online before. I'm looking for a 105 minumum crankset. Currently a triple but going to double or triple is no biggie, I just ride
I've looked on Jenson, Performance and cranks are $250'ish. Plus another $40 for the BB and whatever else comes up.
On ebay, I see an online store, Wheelandsprocket that sells the Ultegra triple and double for $149 with the bottom included. But since I've never done online stuff (besides post pics), do I need to bid on the online store stuff. Has a time that says, 1 day,16 hours left. That means I have to bid when they have 9 left?
My triple Bonti is thrashed. Second BB and it's carp. Rings are all crooked. Placed new rings on, they too run crooked, side to side, all tore up! I think the spider is crooked/warped, time for a new one.
So I need a double or triple crank with BB. I'd like the new outboard bearing setup for stability under my big body. Does that matter since the bearings are set wide compared to the cartridge on my current setup?
Or maybe somebody knows of some good deals at local shops? I'm not one to hassle with mail this and that! But if I gots to, I gots to!
Wheel and sprocket had a pretty good rating as far as service, high 90's satisfied. Anybody here ever use them ?

Probikekit? Some are bundled with the BB, some aren't.
If it's an ebay store, there is a "Buy it now" button so you just "buy it now" instead of waiting for the time to expire to see if you have the highest bid.
The only potential issue of going outboard bearing BB is that the BB area on the frame may need to be faced if it's not parallel.

If those cranks have the 'buy it now' option, you do not have to bid if you are willing to pay that price. You might need a paypal account, though. 150 for those cranks is a steal. I would say go for it.

Thanks, It's a 2007 frame. How would I know if it needs facing? It's a Lemond Chambery, not a cheapo like the original I bought so I would think it would be faced.

Thanks, BUY IT NOW, that's the ticket!
Yeah, good price! Hey, what the heck happened to Jenson? I went in the other day, nothing but a counter now!

I looked up the crank on ebay - The only thing I see that could be bad is that there is no manufacurers warranty. For $165 shipped it might be worth the risk.

The Corona store is our retail front now. You can still buy anything from the warehouse at the will call counter. If you are ever in the area during the week stop in and say hi. It would be cool to finally meet the infamous Beanz!

Difference? That's what I'm hoping for. Mine feel wimpy and keep getting thrashed. Well, I think it's the bike that's wimpy, can't be me!
Yeah, good price, no warranty but the page says gauranteed to work or will replace. Good enough for me. I don't care for the purty boxes anway!

no problem with outboard bearing cranks. I have the same frame... it is supposed to come with outboard bearing cranks. So you should be good. And actually wheelandsproket is a quite a big chain in wisconsin and the owner was even interviewed in bicycling mag so he is very safe to buy from.

If you feel more comfortable buying from an LBS, ask one if they'll price match.

Thanks GT, I saw those. I was really looking for the new set up with outboard bearings though. Got them at wheelandsprocket. Kept it triple since my other roadie is a double.
I like them!
