Windows XP (other versions, too?) comes with a freeware video editing program. I've used it, though I am not proficient in any way. But it seems good enough for doing what I need, or editing your ride videos. You need a little trigger time with it to learn how it works, but if I can do it, anyone can. However I confess I do not typically add external audio to (the few) videos I edit.

Have there been any updates about the upcoming closure near Green River Rd? I plan to use that corridor on a really long ride in 2010 and don't want to deal with a multi-mile detour.

Cooler today than two days ago. Wind couldn't make up its mind. First from the east then sw, then west. ARRGH Still, had a good day: 86 miles, 4h 41' for an avg spd of 18.37mph. These kind of days usually happen when all the planets are aligned on the same side of the sun and I get help from the gravity well that is formed (ask Stephen Hawking). Think I'll check my Farmer's Almanac. After a day like today, I may not be the Mayor, but I got a seat on the city council.

12/26.............Cold chilly day on the trail, 42 miles. Condorita was ending her ride as we were starting, geeze must have been cold out there that early. She did seem a bit shy for the camera too, hmmm! MTBLurker wouldn't stand far enough from the camera to let me take his video. I guess there are some camera shy peeps out there haha! A short stop at Edna Park when I saw the RiverVelo Boyz riding by, just caught a glimpse of them. Some laughs at the coast with Bob (sans Greg, due, call him!) and George. Ran into EricAnderson on the return. He was on the side of the road near a police car on the side of the trail. I thought he was getting a speeding ticket. Eric says, no such honor...YET!
BTW, saw a guy in bright green shout "Beanz". Looked familiar but didn't recognize him, member or lurker?
We rode back for a bit then Eric dropped the hammer. I tried to get him on camera at a high rate but best I could do with one hand (holding the camera) was 24 before as he pulled away still accelerating!
Condorita
Bob, not Bad Bob, but a Good Bob!
Rivervelo Fly-By and some Eric Anderson Video...and Gina won't stop eating bugs haha!

Hey Beanz,
The weather was great today. I did a hard century including Santiago Canyon 2X, Portola Pkwy, Laguna, then the SART back home. No wind, no rain, no sun burn. Great bike riding weather.
Thanks for the consult on the cassette noise. I'll throw a couple of hundred dollars at the problem tomorrow. If I replace everything that makes noise; it should be quiet, right?
Eric

I just can't wait when summer weather rolls along and you're at the beach with that video camera.

12/27...Gina thought about stayng home today, not feeling too well but I tlked her into a shorter ride than I wanted. I think she was pretty happy that she came along, I let her do the camera work. She seems pretty tickled about it. Matter fo fact, I think she's getting carried away with this little Flip thingy!
So the camera work came from the backseat of the tandem, thru the eye of Gina!

I like this one! We saw the RiverVelo dudes riding in the opposite direction so we turned around them chased them down for the vid. They were in cruise mode or we would've never caught them. We're not that fast but looks good in the video. I put MTBLurker in the vid only cause he posted me yesterday, payback mister! Bwahahaha!

Good camera work Gina. It's always a pleasure to meet the Beanz'es on the trail, you get the chance to be on the front page. Happy new year to both of you.

Hey, Beanz, haven't seen you for a while. Looks like you're going wild with your new camera! How fun! I think I'm burned out on the bike, so I am taking a couple of weeks off and doing some other things like hiking and stuff. See you one of these days.

12/28....101 miles on the trail. Ran into LewisAClark who can verify that it was WINDY. Saw the Haircut Crew ride by and got a little help from Tammy taking a pull. Sheesh, every little break helps! I did the trail twice to make the hundred, just racking up mileage trying to stay ahead of LewisAC on bikejournal...Started a bit late so it was just about dark when I finished.

Hello Mr. Beanz,
I know why eyemage was unable to eat an In-N-Out burger with you during your Monday ride. There was an eymage siting, along with his entourage, on SGRT this morning. At some point there may even be photos to document his whereabouts.
If it makes you feel any better, my 111 mile ride from Upland to Long Beach to Seal Beach and back was also blessed with a headwind for most of the last 50 miles. Afterall, I have to try to stay ahead of both you and LewisAClark on Bike Journal.
Happy New Year to you and Gina.
Rick

Beanz Effect
What is the Beanz Effect?
I'm at the top of SGRT Santa Fe Dam and some really really fast roadie yells, "Do you know BEANZZZZZZZZZZ?"
Here I am, private citizen eyemage, thrusted into BF's spotlight because of my association with The Mayoral Diva himself.
It was certainly a kodak moment:
Side note: I find out it was DutchBoy, I was lucky to catch this bicycle rocket standing still...

Yes you were lucky to catch him still. Lucky to hear what he said. When DB's around, I only hear the sound of a rocket engine!...But why are you wearing oversized boxers?

I thought we agreed not to tell anyone about you letting me sneak past you on Bike Journal this year!!
I'm also thinking that you and eyemage may have me confused with another rider. If I had any bicycle rockets on Monday, someone had thrown the thrusters into reverse. Otherwise, any prior noises you may have heard when I was riding were not caused by a rocket.
