Hi,

Can anyone tell me about any swap meets happening soon in So Cal. I have been look at different race sites, but now swap meet info. I live in Los Angeles, and am willing to travel a bit for a good swap meet.

thanks,

Aren't there two biggies, one in L.A. and the other in Orange County? Its been a long time since I been to them. The L.A. I recall was in Pasadena. If you call the city of Pasadena, or their Chamber of Commerce, you might get details.

In Costa Mesa, the Orange County Fairgrounds "might" still be the weekend swap meet. But I hear it could be closed down.

lol I think he means bike swap meets. There's one at the SD velodrome. I don't remember when, but I'm thinking it's in the spring. There's also one at the Encino Velodrome... I don't remember when that one is either.

The SD swap meet is bigger and has more vendors/sellers than the Eninco.

Anyone going to this? I have never been to a bicycle swap meet, is this a good one to go to or is there a better one in the area?

The swap meet at the OC Fairgrounds has turned into a g-i-g-i-a-n-t-i-c commercial outdoor mall called the "OC Marketplace." Not really much 'swapping' or 'bartering' going on. It cost a few $$ to get in, and not really many bargins. No real concentration of bike vendors if thats what you're looking for.

I believe the one in Pasadena is at the Rose Bowl parking lot, and its held once per month.

There are smaller weekend swap meets here in Orange County at both Orange Cost College and Golden West College. Takes about an hour to walk around either one. Probably not worth a long drive, but I have found some older bike parts at both.
