I was planning on Carlsbad to Newport tomorrow if you want to go a little further. I'll be passing right near Pier View coffee if interested. I can come through at either 8:00 or 9:30 if anyone is interested in the longer distance.

I was planning on going up to San Clemente or maybe a little farther to get 40 miles, stopping to eat, then coming back down.

I'm game. No worries about jumping the thread. Like I said, I don't mind staring late, er, almost prefer it. It would be fun to get together and then if I or anyone wants to turn back at any point then no worries. I might be down for Newport. Depends on how I'm feeling when I get on the road. Since it's a long ride I'm thinking around 15-16 mph average. I plan on drafting behind the biggest guy.

Yikes... I doubt I could average 15 MPH along the coastal route right now. I might show up anyway, though... it's not as if I would get lost if I can't keep up. So if I show up, can I get those beads you promised?

I am not planning on hammering at all, I'm just looking to get miles in the saddle. And I plan on stopping at the halfway point to get real food (as opposed to bars or gels).

Meet at Oceanside Pier at 9:30. I'm assuming that Pier View coffee has a view of the pier so people will see us congregating there.
