Are You Satisfied with Your Ride Style/Habits?
"How do the others feel?" comes to my mind. I've heard so many comments over the years. Plenty of criticizm! I've been called a flatlander, river rat, boring, wuss, sissy, slow, fat and lots of other stuff by others riders. Several of which aren't even riding anymore!
Some of which have insisted I've wasted money and time while making it enjoyable for Gina to ride! What are they thinking?
Me, still having fun and still on the bike DAMMIT!...Still meeting new people, new friends, and challenging myself when I need! I don't think I've been off the bike for more than a one week stretch in the last 12 or 13 years.
Still riding, isn't that what matters?
SO, how do you see your career at this point?

All those adjectives, wuss, sissy and slow describe me. That's probably why I prefer hills. It gets me out of my comfort zone. When I do flats and the scenery doesn't change, I zone out like you do when driving the same route everyday. I'm lazy, slow and unmotivated most of the time, but if there's a climb I haven't done--watch me become a competitor, motivated and alert. Must have music, though. Makes me move up the hills faster. I wish I could apply this attitude to every facet of my life. *sigh*

Hi Beanz,
I met grrlyrida while getting my number, etc. before the Grand Tour. Great find there Beanz!
To the OP: Yes, I'm very satisfied even though I'm a wimp, etc. for not having ridden Triple By-Pass or Terrible Two, or Devil Mountain.
Still, I do what I can (cycling wise) even if the weather is way too hot (Davis Double) or way too cold (Eastern Sierra Double). I'm not fast enough to race, but I do enjoy the climbing rides , KOM, etc.
GMR and Angeles Crest are All Good!

Yup, she's tough! She got faster and faster with every GMR ride we did. Easily made her first attempt to the village on a hot day with Just Me and JustMe. Even with the extra energy burned while swatting killer flies!

Yes. Thank you for asking. 25+ years in the saddle and still feel like a teenager when I ride. What more can I ask? Of course, there were a couple a lapses ... but I always came back.

You guys are the tough ones. Mr. Beanz riding up and down the SART practically everyday and Rick doing a double century every other day. I need to get back in training to keep up with you guys. I've been lazy--just doing Mt. Hollywood and PCH.
