Short 'n' Flat O.C. Ride - Sun. 7/26

Moderate-paced, semi-social, 35 mile loop out to the coast and back from the Tustin Market Place:

http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united...24828559935404

It's a pretty mild route, being mostly flat except for the Newport Coast bump. Rolling from the Red Robin / Comerica Bank / Black|White Store parking lot at 8:30 am.

:p

Huh? Is this a forum ride? Do you even own a bicycle?

Why you trying to blow my cover?

cjbruin 07-24-09 11:37 AM

I should be able to join you guys. If I can't make it to the start at 8:30, I may just meet you on the road somewhere.

We should be there. At that time.

I think he's watching a triathlon on Sunday.

efficiency 07-25-09 09:09 AM

^Good choice.

chimivee 07-25-09 04:40 PM

Looks like it. See you then.

cjbruin 07-26-09 12:58 PM

Hey boys. Sorry...didn't get much sleep all week and decided to catch up this morning. Hope you had a good ride.

GP 07-26-09 03:14 PM

Thanks, guys. Great route.

roadfix 07-26-09 03:49 PM

I had to do a double take on the date of this thread....:p :D

chimivee 07-27-09 07:25 PM

Are you guys done with your wise cracks?

rezrez12 08-10-09 02:38 PM

How's this ride for a beginner? I've just started riding, and am going to do the MS bike ride in 2 months and I am training for that ride...

I've been riding the South Bay bicycle trail from Torrance to Santa Monica on my mountain bike, but just bought a road bike and want to take it out.

Is this a good ride for me?

Thanks!

dddave 08-11-09 04:07 PM

the ms150 is easy as pie.

Well, if you can do 35 miles, it's a fairly easy ride. (Ride faster if you want harder, ride slower if you want easier. :)) Newport Coast is the only climb - but it's only a mile or so(?).

Perfect, I will give it a try! I can do about 40 miles on the beach with a mountain bike, so I should be able to do this on a road bike....

Carbon Unit 08-13-09 12:28 AM

I would love to do this ride at some point in the future but I'm recovering from surgery and haven't been able to ride for most of this year. If you do any group rides around Thanksgiving, then count me in.

By the way, do any of you ride with the Irvine Bike Club?

efficiency 08-13-09 08:41 AM

Irvine Bike Club or Bicycle Club of Irvine (BCI)?
