I posted some of these pics in the SART thread. Don’t let Beanz fool you. He has great pedaling action and a smooth cadence. He talks about the areas where he had trouble, but he failed to mention that he cleaned the most technical parts of the climb.

I think he was sandbagging.

Lulling me into complacency with his “I had too much ice cream this week” talk

Climbing – the only reason he was behind me was to stopped to take a picture.

Waaay too fast for the camera-on a climb!

Whips out the camera on the run. Amazing skills.

Now, who is the fast one?

Sometimes it's caused by the death grip on the brakes for extended periods of time...

I couldn't tell from the pic.

Yes. It's a Ibis Mojo SL. I love the bike, although it's looks nothing like Prolene's blinged out Cervelo for road.

I was watching “Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed” and it inspired me to take a closer look at Beanz’s photographic skills. Here is my analysis:

Beanz is reaches for the camera, after his fake “my heart is pounding and my tires are slipping” act.

Notice camera is in right hand, hidden on the bar

Draw!

After taking the pic, he runs away, so as to not reveal any of his secrets

I usually start at the dirt equestrian lot just past Marshall Canyon Golf Course. North on Esperanza off of Baseline. RT on Stephens Ranch Rd and go past the golf course. The lot is to the right before the sometimes locked gate. The initial short ride is road until you hit the dirt trail to the left.

Claremont Wilderness is a harder climb when you start out if you take the straightest line (to the right) to Potato. It is more exposed and lots of foot traffic. Marshall is not as steep initially and is much more scenic and quiet. Much of it is shaded before you hit Claremont Wilderness.

Question

Which statement/thoughts could be attributed to Mr. Beanz while on our Potato climb?

A. “I am going to teach LewisAClark a lesson with my training”
B. “We rested cause my heart pounded for 5 min, now I’m going to try to rip your legs off for the next 30 min”
C. "The last time I did the Claremont loop I beat that guy from work by 20 min”
D. All of the above
