I'm thinking about signing up for the Tour De Palm Springs ride on February 13, 2010. I'm thinking about doing the 55 mile ride and been training for it every weekend. I've done several 65 mile charity rides in the past so I hope it isn't much of a challenge. Anyone thinking about doing this ride? Have anyone done this ride in the past year(s)? How challenging is it?

I think I've done the 100 about 6 or 7 years in a row now. It's not that bad of a ride. The first 20 miles or so is the worst. That's the biggest hill. There's a couple other ones but they aren't that bad. It can be a bit cool because it's in the middle of winter. Occasional there is some wind but it has't gotten too bad.

it's the easiest 55 mile charity ride you'll find in southern california-very little elevation
gain and nothing strenuous. just be sure to bring two spare inner tubes as the route
takes you through prime goathead territory.
