Hillbasher GMR Hillbashing Ride Report and Pics

Hillbasher is a pretty quiet guy on the forum but he's here! I met him a couple years ago climbing Baldy Rd. We might have rode together once or twice around that time but never nothing planned. I'd been trying to get around to meet up with the guy for a GMR but I had a few setbacks (dental) that got in the way of several of my plans. It's tough riding with a drill in your mouth hahaha! So finally got around to meeting up. He mentioned it wouldn't be a fat paced ride as he hasn't been on GMR for a quite some time. Cool cause I sucked my last time out on GMR. Grrlyrida and JustMe came along for the ride but I made them promise to hold the pace down as I didn't know Hillbasher's climbing ability. HB had also requested a modified course rather than to the village and back. So we did Big GMR, down Lil GMR, across East Fork then down (if that's down) Hwy 39. About 35 miles with 3000'ish ft of climbing. It was a nice ride and much warmer than I expected. Good company and a nice pace.

For not being on GMR for some time, he did very well. Made it look easy as a matter of fact. And of course like most riders, they drop the hammer on me and leave me behind!

Typical forum words before a GMR ride, "ohhh I dunno if I'll keep up with you" right before dropping the hammer on me!

Still chasing JustMe and Hillbasher

Of course there was " promise to hold the pace down" JustMe. I bet you're wondering why he's smiling like that!

You guessed it! He and his NEW FASTER LIGHTER Madone were planning to drop the hammer on me, and (his words) take me out of my comfort zone! Look at those legs, like shredded lettuce!

He surprised me with this one! Oh well, why waste the picture? This one's for the ladies!

JustMe thanking the Trek gods for his new Madone. Grrly eyeballin' my P&J sandwich from way over there! And Hillbasher counting the hills bashed!

Testing to see which if any is better.

Oh you gott ado it soon! Weather is great. We/I showed up with leg covers, underlayers, jackets at the start. One step out and it was strip strip strip. Nice and warm. Cool in some pockets but very nice!

Everytime I do it I wonder why riders like Eyemage, LewisAClark, Lucas, and a few others won't give it a whirl!..It's not that tough with a little patience!

Thanks for inviting me on the ride, Mayor Beanz. There's something wrong with your camera. Why do I look like I'm 800 lbs.

The camera adds 10 lbs!..................I told you, this cellcam sucks compared to my digicam. Well, now that it doesn't work, I guess it's better than my digicam!

Where are them other guys, no cmmments? No "I felt good", "I did well", "I felt good on the climbs", "I love my new bike", "I felt like a million bucks", "Mr. Beanz is a goodlooking feller"? Sheesh, quiet bunch!

Grrlyrida,Just Me, Mr. Beanz,
Thanks for the great ride. I had a fantastic time even though I felt like a snail. Grrlyrida, sorry for getting us caught at the traffic stop. Maybe next time they will be finished with the construction. Just Me, like I said, that bike is pathetic, as in pathetically nice. Mr Mayor, thanks with putting up with my slowness. Hope to do it again real soon. Next time you had better bring more PBJ with you as Vanessa was watching yours the entire time. Thanks all of you again for having me along. Hill

Bill, nice to make your acquaintance. Hope we'll see you on more of these excursions.

I see Leaner, Meaner has been playing with photoshop again. Makin Grrly look like she's 800 lbs. That's shameful Beanz. And those fake shadows, really now, this picture taken thing is getting out of hand.
