Ride Bikes to Honda Center on SART?

I want to ride with my duaghter to a day game at the Ponda Center for a Ducks's game.
I'm looking for a ride of about 5-8 miles each way; closer to 5 probably better.
Looking at a map, I think starting at Riverdale or Centennial Park might be good.

Any tips or negatives to either starting location?
Leaving my truck safe enough?
Nearby shopping centers maybe?

The Honda Center does have bike racks on the North side by the parking booth and a stretch of grass.

Any suggestions with what to do with helmets and such?; guess we could just bring them in and drop them under our seats.

PS This new "upgrade" needs help.

I'm not much help as I'm not from the area, just ride the trail and know a few places here and there....But I know a buddy and I started a ride from the Costco shopping center few years ago. Had plenty of parking and a hot dog on the return..

Wear the helmets, it's hockey, you might need them!

Centennial Park would be a "no-go"; that's some serious gang turf, especially in the evenings.

Riverdale is the golf course south of the 22 freeway? Might work, but you'd have to check out where to park around there. Probably less than 5 miles to the Center, too.

Not a lot of options 5-7 miles south of the Honda Center. The Costco center in Fountain Valley would be OK, just farther than 5-7 miles. Other options in Fountain Valley are the Medical center (Warner & Euclid, go east on Warner to the SART), but that's would be as far as Costco.

Try approaching the Honda Center from the north along the SART. (anyone got any suggestions?)

I'm not exactly sure of the street name but near Lakeview, there is the Cricle K store. Lots of riders park the on the street. Might be about 3 or 4 miles to the Honda Center, and a slurpee on the return!

Riverdale park is in a good area. I would feel comfortable leaving a car there. I am not sure if there are park hours though. Also there are some neighborhoods nearby that you can park in. If you are feeling gutsy, park in the Kaiser Permanente lot, next to Riverdale park. They have security patrolling the lot, so the car will definitely be safe. Unfortunately, they will likely spot you leaving on your bikes!!

Riverdale Park would be a nice starting point, as others have suggested. The Circle K is on Riverdale just off Tustin. Riverdale Park and the Kaiser hospital are both off Lakeview.

Do you have a collapsible gym/duffle bag you could carry with you to put the helmets and such in during the game? Keep it empty until you get to the inspection point, then stuff your gear in it in full view of the security folks. Who're the Ducks playing?

Thanks all.
Hearing no-go on Centennial is the kind of thing I'm looking for.
I'll look into going to Riverdale area; if we do it.

Ducks are playing the Coyotes that day.

I think that is Tustin Avenue.. I have parked on the street in front of store with no issues.. If travelling from the north, I think it is Rose Ave and then turns into Tustin Ave at some point..

Tustin! That could be. It's hard to read the signs when we're usually doing about 36 mph on that section!
