Solvang Century, March 13, 2010
My schedule just opened up for the weekend of 3/13, so I can do the Solvang Century. But from past experience I know that rooms are unobtainable this close to the event.
Anybody got a room they're willing to share? Floors will do just fine!

Why not just stay at Motel 6 in Carpinteria or in Santa Barbara? Rates are cheap, even cheaper if you find the 20% off coupon.

Flat Ire
Or Motel 6 in Lompoc. Only about a 10 mile ride up to the start.
I am thus booked. Lompoc.
But oh my, it's gonna rain. I can feel it in my bones. We gonna be riding in the rain.
Santa Maria in the rain. That it will be, I'm sure. Take your rain gear, or a trash bag to put over yourself, at least.
I've ridden in the rain before. One problem is that whenever you stop to do anything, everything you touch gets wet. I'd hate to try to fix a flat in the rain.
I'm doing a number of other centuries this year, including the King of the Mountains series. If I don't get all wet this El Nino year I'll be pretty lucky.
