    Santa Clarita Century

Anybody ever do the Santa Clarita Century? The next one is scheduled for April 2, 2011 and I have set a goal to ride it. They describe it as fairly difficult with a fair amount of climbing. Sounds like fun to me!

Sure, I've ridden it. What questions do you have?

Actually, I don't think very many BFers do it. I've noticed a SoCal distinctive over the years I've been on BF: some (many?) have a problem paying to ride on roads they could do anytime for free. And I totally understand this. Very rough guess on my part: maybe a dozen BFers? But then, I haven't asked anyone if they're on BF when I see them on the ride.

First year, there were about 250--300 riders total in the event. Last year (2nd year), there were 5--600 riders total. So, hopefully, it'll keep growing.

Yes, this is my thinking as well, although I sometimes enter for the support and/or the right charity cause.

Joe, I might try to do it next year, although I would do it unsupported. I'd be happy to at least start with you, though.

Great. Would enjoy that. Then, by the end of the parking lot, I'll be waiving good-bye as you drop me!
