Accessing Chino Hill/Aliso Canyon via the Santa Ana River Trail

OK all you guys that ride the Santa Ana River Trail (dirt not paved)... my gang and I used to enter Chino Hills through the Green River Golf Course but that entrance is now closed. I know there is a dirt trail that goes off in an easterly direction towards the 71 Expressway. Does anyone know if there is a way to enter Chino Hills off the 91/71 without us having to travel all the way up into Chino to get into the park? Right now the only way to access Bane/Aliso Canyon is from Carbon Canyon in Brea and traveling up and down the 3 B*tches down to the Ranger Station. I would love to be able to come into on the 91 side.

    Suggestions anyone????

I was always under the impression the *three beaches* was in Santiago Oaks. Are you referring to Telegraph Canyon in accessing the area from Brea Canyon Dam?

There are b*tches (the 3 b's in Chino is on Telegraph to the ranger station) in both areas... that said, not certain if I am clear. I generally ride into Chino Hills state park from Carbon Canyon Regional Park. My normal route include North Ridge, Sycamore, Telegraph and down to the Ranger Station back up South Ridge, however... for some of my friends this is too much ride. We used to come in from Green River Golf Course and ride Aliso Canyon to Bane Canyon to the Ranger Station and back. Nice and easy stuff. Green River is now closed. I want to know if there is a way to get to Aliso/Bane without coming from Brea of Chino...

I don't think there is really anywhere to park off the 71. Another access point is at the eastern end of La Palma, east of Gypsum Canyon, where La Palma turns left and becomes Cam de Bryant. Near the intersection of Cam de Bryant and Brush Canyon Dr. (off of Brush Canyon), there is a gate that leads to the railroad right of way. You can ride the right of way to the Green River entrance. You will bypass the country club this way.

Wow, so you can ride the dirt that is next to the train tracks? Seems a little nerve-wracking!

I live in Yorba Linda and have entered the park from the golf course recently. When did they close that entrance(lower Aliso)?

Actually the gate to lower Aliso is not closed... access through the Green River Golf Course is (you know where the horses roam and you have to open and close gates). Apparently they are expanding the golf course (concession for the River trail construction) and will be using that property. I was there about 3 weeks ago and had to go around barbed wired fencing. I since called the State park and was told that is not a legal entrance and riders will be fined. There has got to be a way to get into Lowe Aliso and Bane without coming through either Brea/Carbon Canyon or from the Chino gate. Riding the rails won't work because the closed part is where the rails are...

I beleive there is an access point south of the golf course, down the paved trail, cross near the old bmx track, and backtracking to the golf course along the RR tracks. There are also various access points in the hills of Yorba Linda.

I rode down Scully Ridge on October 1 to Green River CC, and the golf course gate at the tracks was opened, no barricades at all. I then rode through the coral to Lower Aliso. A buddy of mine did mentioned the barb wire at the main entrance to the golf course, but I don't know if it had anything to do with the fire that was in the area the same weekend.

We ride the SART to the golf course main entrance then ride through the parking lot right past the club house then right up to the park entrance.
