Who Was this Dude on SART ? (called my name)

Saw this dude fly by on the trail today (Saturday) near Edna. I wasn't sure if he called my name but Gina says he did. Got a little fly by in the video.

Don't know him, but I saw him, too, a little north of Adams, around noon or so.

Hmm, he must have started from the coast. We saw him at about 2:30'ish heading south before Edna Park.

Whoever he is, he's bad luck. Gina flatted about a minute or two after we saw him.

Wasn't me, but I think I saw you out there today. I'm easy to spot, being a 270 pound roadie with mtb shorts and mtb helmet, and a tee shirt (too lazy to shop for jerseys still). I always get on at Lakeview and I saw you heading northbound not long after I started south. IIRC it was 11AM? Maybe 10:30?

Beanz, what's going on with SART and flats? I've never had a single flat on the road in 6000 miles and ride SART maybe once a month. Using just standard Continental GP4000S tires (I know these aren't your favorites) but they seem to work well for flat protection.

I read in one of your posts about a lot of seashells that were flatting tires.

How many flats do you get on SART each year? I know you ride it about four times a month (maybe more?)

Hope all is well with you.

That's the tire I run on Gina's that flatted. I run Serfas Secas and rarely flat. I flatted a coupe weeks ago but the tire was near it's end. Just replaced them last week. FTR, Gina's GP4000's flats far more than my Seca tires.

I myself get one flat on my single (serfas, that includes GMR and Devore street rides), maybe one or two on the tandem (serfas) and 3 or 4 on Gina's GP4000's ( all trail rides).

But we ride the trail 6-8 times per month (42-60 milers)

Oh, the seashells were on the last 1/4-1/2 mile of the trail on the detour of the trail at the coast. TONS and TONS of shells and lots of riders flatting. The stuff even looks like glass on the trail.
