Breathless Agony
The registration will be open tonight at 8pm at https://www.cyclingpros.com/onyx.htm
Did it last year in about 6 hours of riding time. Was fun. Unfortunately this year I will be doing some crit racing here in San Diego on that day so I cant do it.

Is that Jack Rabbit trail really a dirt road in places? From some of the pics on that site, it looks like it.

I'm in. I think this is the fifth time.
Yes, but it's hard dirt. Lots of potholes and some broken pavement. If you've ever ridden in Rancho Santa Fe, you'll be fine.

I love Jackrabbit trail. It always reminds me that all you really need is passable road an inch or two wide to keep moving forward. It just doesn't all have to be connected in a nice straight line.

I'm in, and so is my friend Lou Ann. This will be my 4th or 5th BA, her first.
IMO Jack Rabbit trail was only bad that year it rained the day before the event and there was a mud-lake section we had to ride, or hike-a-bike around. Other than that, no worries.
Great event, real party atmosphere and the Grim Reaper is always there to encourage the riders!

I don't know if they're officially banned, but there's going to be a lot of motor traffic on the course, esp. now that 330 is closed, plus with the larger entry field for the event . . . I'm not going to be using my ipod and I recommend that you don't either. YMMV of course.

I might be out if the swelling on my right knee doesn't go down by Friday morning. It was pretty swollen at Mulholland; now it's worse.

For those that have done both, which one is harder - Mt. Laguna Cycling Classic or this one? I am just curious and thanks for the objective replies or comparisons.

Not really... it just depends on your strengths. Are you better at shorter steeper climbs (3rd loop MLBC) or longer higher altitude climbing (3rd loop BA - 8 mile climb) ? I consider BA harder because of the longer climb plus it's all under first 75miles all of your climbing is done unlike MLBC.

Nah.. really have not done much climbing (nor cycling) past 60 miles - I've been busy with this project that's gonna last all year so my cycling has suffered a bit. I saw indolent last week on pch riding his bike. He looked good considering he hasn't ridden in a while.
