Riding Mt Laguna

I am heading to San Diego the week of January 24-31, and was thinking of riding a loop around Mt Laguna (Descanso-Old Hwy 80-Kitchen Creek-Sunrise Hwy-79-Descanso). How are the roads (busy, safe, etc.)? And how about temperature this time of year?

Anyone care to join me, maybe on Tuesday, 1/25?

light traffic most of the time, good road quality except for the single lane upper portion of Kitchen Creek (after a locked gate) so you should climb from I-8 toward climbing speed it is fine. Temps were 75 today, but it could have snow....a great ride

what merlin55 said. a really beautiful area with very little traffic during the week. Highway 79 to the west receives the lion's share of the traffic. Hopefully the weather holds out for you
on your visit. if you can swing it or feel so inclined, bring a camera. you won't regret it.
