What the hell happened? Is there any other info? I did the All City race with him a couple of years ago.

He sustained broken ribs, a gash on his scapula and bruised internals, outpatient status. No details on the incident yet, other than it not being a hit and run.

A gash on his scapula? Do you mean the actual bone or in his skin around the location of his scapula? A gash in a bone sounds really nasty. Glad to hear that it's nothing life-threatening.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Jerome, Rick, Christian, everyone else. Spent about 16 hours in the ER (mostly for observation), but glad to be out of the hospital. Very fortunate to be alive (or that injuries weren't more severe). Not really wanting to divulge details of the incident on a public forum (hope that's understandable), but it involved a pick-up truck going ~30mph and me going between 10-15mph. In a lot of pain but hope to be back on the streets in ~2 weeks. Be careful out there, everyone!

tFUnk. Thanks for taking the time to come on and give us an update. Glad to hear that your recovery will be relatively quick.
How's your bike?

Glad to hear you're (relatively) ok. Good call on not saying too much on a public form (presumably while insurance/police/legal matters work themselves out). Once everything's resolved, I'm sure we'd all be interested in hearing the full story.

I went straight from pavement to ambulance, never got to see my bike. I hear it's being held at Vernon FD and that it suffered minimal damage. I'm more upset at losing my smartphone and breaking my recently acquired digital camera, though.

Heal up, T.
BTW, the DA just contacted me about the hit and run on me and Slackar. They forgot to seek victim's restitution for me and I'll be squeezing some more dollars out of that witch who hit us.

I think I remember reading about that on the old LAF site, before I've met you or Kenny. Was civil action pursued in addition to the criminal H&R?

Criminal = Victim's Restitution
It seems to be a kind of fail-safe if the insurance company tries to gyp you.

We were hit right at the corner of SFS Rd and McCann.
A flick from where I landed about 45 feet from the corner (Kenny's shoes and socks that he was knocked out of were still there):
Kenny landed here, about 80 feet from the corner. Yeah, that's his blood on the sidewalk:
