Fargo Street Hill Climb (Los Angeles)

The annual Fargo Street Hills Climb, with its 33% grade, takes place this Sunday, about 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

It's a zany Los Angeles tradition, dating back more than four decades. The location: just east of Glendale Blvd., in the Silverlake/Echo Park area, at the intersection of Allesandro and Fargo Street.

Most people have difficulty walking up the hill. This year, in addition to road and mountain bikes, and the guy who shows up on a unicycle, and the people on inline skates, a team of Elliptigo riders will try to summit the steepest street in town.

...and if Fargo isn't enough for you, the 7th edition of "Feel My Legs, I'm A Racer" takes place the same day. They will be climbing Fargo but also Eldred (which some say is actually the steepest road in L.A.), Mount Washington, Amethyst, Thomas, White Knoll/Marview, Echo Park/Baxter, Micheletorena, Silverlake/Duane, and Stadium Way/Academy/Boylston. The ride meets at 7:45AM at the Silver Lake pedestrian plaza (3701 W Sunset Blvd). More info here: https://truelovehealth.com/2012/03/09...er-propaganda/

Let's hope the weather is kind to us.
