my fellow san diego SR56 bike path brothers
i received a call from the city last week, and they said the closed bike path will be reopened tomorrow, 3/15, by 12pm.
it has been 6 long months of having to bike by 2 high schools every day at 3pm.

Awesome!! The 56 is one of my main routes. Though I must say, I've gotten used to riding on the "detour" route, and it's not so bad, just a bit longer.

And a mighty shout of freedom echoes across the hills! Huzzah!! And just in time for daylight savings.
Man, I'm going to wear that smooth new asphalt out by the end of the year.
[Sees rain in weekend forecast... scratch the huzzah... fudgin' heck!]

Oh, you won't melt. I was going to do Palomar Sunday, but will probably do my 75 mile RB/56/Coast/SLR loop instead, even if it's raining.

Well now you've gone and hurt my feelings. Just for that I hope your socks get squishy-wet AND your drivetrain wears out prematurely.
If it's going to rain, I'll probably take the kayak out and start training for my Catalina crossing this summer. I'm pretty much on recovery mode for the next two weeks until Hell's Gate anyway.

What's this detour you are talking about? I love the 56 bike path but after I rode the 'path' two times Paris Roubaix style, I crossed the whole area off my list.

Damn, and I was starting to like the detour.
I'm sure the "lake" at the west end of the golf course is still there though.
