Current conditions on Baldy/GMR/39?

Anyone ride on Baldy/GMR/39 in the last day or two? I am specifically interested in hearing about the conditions from the village to the lifts.

Thanks

I plan to ride it Sunday. The road is clear all the way; no chains required - according to
http://www.mtbaldy.com/mtbaldy/002/snow-report.php .

Was up on Wednesday and the road was in mid-summer condition. The ride out GMR/GRR is as nice as it gets with the views of the higher peaks all snow covered and everything on the road sides all green.

I did not, but a guy from work went skiing the same day and said the road was dry all the way up.

Hey rooftest, I'll be heading up there tomorrow, too. Taking GMR/GRR to the village and then up to the lifts.

I would check the weather before you leave. Forecast is for chance of rain. I am heading up myself early tomorrow but living at the base of the road, my time loss if bad weather, would be minimal as compared to coming from L. A. or somewhere else. UJA, where are you coming from?

I rode up there today, and had a blast! The sun was out above the village, and we just got misted on a bit on GRR. I can tell I'm getting old - the climb to the lifts is getting much harder. I need to do more very steep hill climbing in training.

Hillbasher, I came in from Santa Ana. Got a late start. Started at Grand and Foothill at 1:27 p.m. I was the only rider foolish enough to ride in only shorts and short sleeve jersey. Ominous clouds turned me back a few miles from the Village. Rode up GMR for a second time to somewhat make up for missing the ride to the lifts.
