Thank you for the photos, looked like a blast. Did the lady make it out, looks like she had bike problems? And the four person bike is way off the wall.

Hello Jeep! She, unlike last time we went, didn't have any problems this time. Last time she broke her chain. She chose to walk up the climbs that were too hard for her..that and her '92 Diamondback didn't have enough easy gears for her to to ride the whole way..not to worry though, she will be getting a Trek Mamba soon!

those old school bikes work really well for a-technical and flat routes like the fullerton loop

i never rode it with suspension because it's taking a bazooka to a knife fight

I think down the bumpy hills, i could use a front shock there...you totally feel everything and sometimes get sore wrists!

@bowser29- Socaltrailriders.org has Fullerton loop rides posted. I think Thurs is a night ride though. I bet if you check with Fullerton Bike shops they might have some rides.
Unfortunately, there are some pretty sticky/muddy spots after it rains, so you might have to avoid the loop for a while.

There is usually a Sunday morning Fully Loop newb ride as well. Check STR for details.

That quad bike family was on my Tour de Cure team.

I've even done a ride with a family on a quint - yes 5 riders!

Do they ride every Sunday? I'll have to check on STR..

WHat i have found though is most newbies get really intimidated with big groups..i keep suggesting joining with other groups and they shy away. Oh well....as long as they ride is all that matters right? =)

Should be no problem. Just be careful around ruts and don't go too fast!! Your tire can get caught up a lot easier. I have done the loop on 700c with 35mm tire and drop bars.
