Just rode this section. It's still blocked by "road closed" fences all over the place, and even by a fence in one spot. (that requires a hike-a-bike around.) All the asphalt is down and smooth; though. It's only missing the paint.
All the signs that I saw have been updated to say closed until 2/10/2012. I'm really unimpressed by the small amount of trail that was re-paved by this huge project. In true California fashion, it's not even close to ready on time. I'm sure it probably cost $35 billion, too.

Yep. At the trail just before Peck (on the north,) at the trail and Beverly (south) and at the trail and Durfee/Rosemead. There was also a "bonus" sign at the 4 corners intersection, plus a fence blocking the way. (hiking around it is easy.)

I hope they fixed the long section just south of the 60 fwy that has all of the bad cracks- that was annoying to ride the thudthud...thudthud....thudthud...etc. I too am looking forward to tacling that ride north past the dam again- Im sure we are not alone on this one, it should be well used once open again.

So, anyone been on the trail? Is it ready to ride or still some clean-up to do? Got a vacation coming up and I'm tired of riding to the beach!

I rode it on Friday the 3rd. The signs were still up, and the lines weren't painted; but it was "ready to ride." cptsilver (above) said that the signs were gone on the 4th - so that's the official green light.

Just drove by Durfee and Rosemead...signs are still up. Also, had the opportunity to pass the trail via Peck Road...lanes not painted as of 6 am, there was a construction truck at the side of trail. Well, they did say the 10th...

Well, rode the new section today. Nice and smooth. Looks like there is some more work being done at the side of the rode around Peck road. Nice job...hopefully they will get to the area around Seal Beach soon...

Saw signs in the Long Beach area stating that they will be repaving that section of the trail. The work is to be completed in April, don't know when it is to begin. Nice to see the SGRT getting a makeover...
