Any One Still Riding SART?

With it flung around your shoulder like that, you'd be uncouncious before you had a chance...
I actually rode the Upper Sart yesterday. Watterman to Norco and back. Lots of cyclists out. I felt safer out there than Green River to PCH> Go figure..

I'm new to cycling, and I see that this restroom area is the designated meeting spot for cyclists going on SART, but i've always wondered, are most of these groups people that know each other, or are a lot of them strangers that hang out and meet new cyclists?

Bathroom facilities. The better bathroom facilities are just further south in Newport on the corner of PCH and Orange Street.

We've been riding SART for years so the people in the video are all friends of ours. Some, Abec, Jed19, El Monarcha in the video are forum members we've met. The others are just regulars on the trail that we have known for years. Many view my blog and an ongoing thread I had here in the past so they know who we are. Take a look at my blog, you will see many pics of riders, members, lurkers, and other places to ride like Glendora Mtn Rd (GMR) if you are interested in climbing.

I was out there today, from 11:30 to 1pm. Saw beanz at one point. When I started at 11:30 in Orange the SART was packed. Pacelines, freds, families, you name it. By the time I got to Santa Ana, it was just me. I didn't see anybody a half mile in front or behind me. Great timing huh?
On my way back from the beach, the stretches through Santa ana were 100% empty. Again it must have been bad timing, but there was *nobody* out there when I got to the "risky" area. Before and after that section, bike traffic picked back up.
Moral of the story, if you'd like to be out there with other cyclists, probably best to start at 9-10am.

Ha! I didn't see you, but there weren't many riders out today.
Is the Solvang ride today, maybe that was the reason?

Solvang was today... indeed.
Doesn't JM have the super coolest bike ever, only in red? How can you miss that thing?

It seems like after Santa Ana there are hardly any riders ever. Even on a beautiful sunny warm weekend, which I find weird because after Anaheim stadium is when the trail starts to get really beautiful. Oh well, more peacefulness for me.

Commuted on SART every night last week, no problems to report. I did see two Orange Cop cars under the Katella underpass on Friday night. They were questioning a few homeless by the pond.
