Where are you riding this weekend ? 03/23-25 ?

I'm still not sure, but will end up riding one of these below.

1. My house in N. Fontana to GMR up to shack and back home

2. Upper Sart. Watterman up Mt Rubidoux to Norco and back.

3. Tour De Sart, Maybe Weir Canyon to PCH and Back

dahvaio 03-23-12 12:04 PM

I am lazy... so on Saturday.. I will be riding from Glassell---SART---Warner and back...

calamarichris 03-23-12 12:12 PM

Either to Packard's Coffee in Ramona & Return.

Or my San Luis Rey-Couser-Lilac Loop.

Going to try to reign in the ponies and not go too hard before Hell's Gate, but we'll see how it goes. :)

idoru2005 03-23-12 12:16 PM

On Saturday most likely will be doing : Frontside GMR, Crystal Lake, Backside GMR.

FWIW, if you're doing your ride on Saturday, I think 7 days may be enough recovery. I'd taken a screenshot of the relevant section of the PMC from WKO+, and this was my build before the DV Double, followed with 9 days of rest (just 2 easy bike rides in that time).

http://jmx.ls1howto.com/pics/cycling...double_PMC.png

From very high load to fully rested in top form in 9 days. Since I only needed 7 days to recover according to the chart, I added a workout on the 26th so it took 9 days to get to my target TSB (which is +15). That little yellow line poked its head up into the positive numbers perfectly timed for the DV double.

Science!

Sounds like fun, what is the elevation gain? I most likely will be doing Baldy to front side of GMR and then the reverse.

It'll get about 8000-8500ft I believe. I think I'm doing the same route Saturday, but setting off a little later than idoru.

idoru2005 03-23-12 02:07 PM

@Lesper - I spoke too soon. The wifey just texted me and said she's coming. So.... later start (approx 9AM), shorter route (Front and Back of GMR only).

Going to have to take it easy. I did sprain my ankle a little on the BA test run (Didn't realize one of cleat was a little loose...) Been taking it easy on commute, etc to heal up. Feels all right but I am not going to subject myself for the chance. Probably go out for easy 2-3 hours endurance spinning around the town... avoiding hills if I need to.

Unless you're ruling something, it's rein.

FujiKid 03-23-12 05:13 PM

Hill repeats up San Elijo and Torrey Pines. :)

indomikey 03-23-12 06:47 PM

Likely GMR. Looking to do gate to shack in under an hour for the first time

Soliel 03-23-12 07:38 PM

I am doing the "Redlands R.U.F.F." ride in Redlands (duh!). It's a charity ride that benefits mostly dogs and their beautiful dog park. I am told the ride goes thru historic downtown, beautiful orchards, past the beautiful dog park and foothills.

Gotta get up real early to get there...5 AM.

JusRelax 03-23-12 09:09 PM

Looks like it's gonna be a busy day on GMR. I'll be there as well. :)

All these rides better be on Saturday as it looks like rain on Sunday. :50:

jmX 03-23-12 10:36 PM

Yup, I'll be out there too doing GMR->Village once or twice.

I'll be the one with a neon green camelbak and red bike with clip on aerobars. Feel free to heckle.

AJ35 03-24-12 12:38 AM

I am near the 210 and 15 fwy. Are there any good routes near here? I usually ride Baseline to Foothill all the way to Duarte and back. Getting bored of the route now

diphthong 03-24-12 04:22 AM

gonna drive up from san diego to attempt this early sunday:

What length ride and how much climbing are you looking for?

AJ35 03-24-12 09:26 AM

40-50 miles and some climbing that a newb on a hybrid can handle :)

indomikey 03-24-12 09:48 AM

A lot of people round Rancho/Fontana ride up cherry (changes name when it turns), up to Donkey road, at the end of donkey road is a gas station where you can rest, then tackle either Lytle creek up sierra avenue/lytle creek, or can go up to the San Manuel ampitheater. Mostly less traveled roads here although most don't have bike lanes. An up and back route will get you about 30 miles.

Or you can ride to Glendora on Foothill and turn up towards GMR, where you will see lots of forum members riding and then ride back from top of GMR (GMR is a little higher difficulty but worth the ride, 6% average)

can ride to redlands area and ride upper SART too

TJClay 03-24-12 09:58 AM

Hoping it's dry Sunday morning, maybe a ride on SART to the beach and back or Shady Canyon and Back Bay.

alicestrong 03-24-12 03:38 PM

I'm planning on riding the SGRT Train on Sunday unless it gets cancelled because of the rain...:(

jmX 03-24-12 04:19 PM

Had to cut my GMR ride short today. I was pretty lethargic today and when the batteries in the power meter died (they lasted a year) I figured I'd skip the 2nd half of the ride.

For Condorita: Certainly was a great day out there. Saw a bobcat on the side of the road staring at me as I went past. Beautiful animal.

AJ35 03-24-12 05:45 PM

I used to love going to GMR and GRR when I had a motorcycle. Big props to those who cycle up there, I would die going half way up.
