Barry Wolfe Tuesday/Thursday Ride

Has anyone done this ride? I've been looking to get into more group riding and meeting people in the area that ride since i normally ride solo most of the time. Was looking to do this ride tomorrow and was curious how many people normally show up as well as the pace of the ride. If anyone has participated in this group ride feel free to share any info. Thanks.

it's a small group usually about 10-30 riders, mostly racers and ex-racers, pace varies from double paceline chatting to flat out up some of the hills. a pretty safe group and not too bad for a beginning group rider if your fitness is up to it. but you could be alone pretty quick and not knowing you they probably won't wait for you at the top of the hills if you are too far back.

tues route:
through griffith park, up verdugo, down chevy chase back through the park

thurs route:
through griffith park, up chevy chase, through montrose, over la tuna, down sunland/vineland.

A better group ride is on Wednesday's 8am Velo Studio in Toluca Lake - route varies. Group leader and all around great guy, former Pro racer, Hrach, will never leave a rider behind. He minds his flock. Gives great advice and actually is interested in everybody having a good ride. While learning how to be a better rider.

Orange County riders can join the Orange County Rebels rides on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. They are described as "...fast, long, and hilly hammerfests that might extend past nightfall." (However, most OC Rebels rides are relatively casual.)

The rides start at Windrow Park in Irvine at 6:00 SHARP. See https://ocrebels.com/rides.htm and scroll down toward the bottom of the page for a little more info.
